Expect the Unexpected
It’s July 6th. I double checked. Fresh falling snow greeted me on the mountaintops this morning.
As I stepped out to take this photo, a light mist still hung in the air. I wish I could adequately describe how just stepping into the day was an act of complete refreshment. Things we least expect often are. You’ll find opportunities to celebrate unexpected delight in situations you are probably labeling as dreaded, unwelcome, or that promise to be uncomfortable or disappointing.
Three carloads of family members headed over these mountains into Yellowstone Park today. Not one of them complained about the gray clouds or the snow and the changes this could create in the plans for the day. Instead, one priceless four-year-old remarked, “Snow! And it’s not even Christmas!”
I hope you can find some unexpected joy in your day…even the parts of it to which you are not looking forward. Goodness can grow anywhere!
